An award-winning journalist, on-air personality, producer, content creator, communications maven, and philanthropist, Tomeka Jones is passionate about telling engaging, important, human-interest stories, and giving back to her community.
For more than 15 years, she has worked for major media outlets including her most recent position as a Producer/Reporter for CNN Airport, a division of CNN. The network provided news, entertainment, and original travel content to more than 60 major airports across the United States.
During her tenure, some of Tomeka’s most notable production work included interviews with Robert Battle, Artistic Director of the world-renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater; Christy Lee Rogers, contemporary underwater photographer; Shaun T, fitness trainer and influencer; Arnold Donald, CEO of Carnival Cruise Line, and Dominique Crenn, award-winning French chef.
Other high-profile projects included Travel Luxe: Bangkok, Napa Valley, and Turks and Caicos Islands, where she traveled to each destination to report and field produce stories on award-winning hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants, and luxury adventures. Tomeka’s storytelling covers a wide range of topics from business and leisure travel, health and wellness, luxury travel, and CEO profiles.
Prior to joining CNN Airport, she worked with other divisions inside AT&T’s WarnerMedia family including HLN, CNN Newsource, CNN Student News, and CNN Marketing. Early in her career, she was a writer/producer at Atlanta’s ABC affiliate WSB-TV, and an associate producer for “Good Day Colorado” at FOX31 News in Denver.
Some of Tomeka’s philanthropic involvement includes serving as a volunteer, board member and event emcee for Back on My Feet Atlanta. She also completed the Atlanta Women’s Foundation’s Inspire Atlanta program in 2019. Tomeka earned the title of runner-up and the Awareness Builder award for raising more than $20,000 to support AWF’s strategic grant making projects for women and girls in the Atlanta community.
Tomeka currently resides in the Atlanta area and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from California State University, Long Beach.
